I opened up for Tipper and Aquasky at the local breakbeat hangout, Megaton last night. This one has some Elektron Machinedrum sounds interspersed throughout. See if you can spot them!

BTW, so much for saying that I wouldn't be posting opening sets for awhile! I played w/ Adam Beyer and Magda (and the Droid guys!) last weekend at Spundae, but honestly, I wasn't that happy with my set. So I'm not posting that one. But this one is much better and closer to what I wanted that night to sound like. This get's a bit of breakbeat sound to it as well, due to the crowd in attendance at Megaton.

I opened up for Kenny and Kelvin Larkin at my techno/electro-ish night, Compression last night. I'm now using Live6 (beta 13, risky!) and my new drum machine, Jomox Xbase 999 sync'd up. Gotta love the Xone:3D mixer too as it also records my set back through Ableton Live while also acting as the MIDI controller. All through one USB cable. Sweet!

This is probably the last opening set I'll be posting for awhile since these types of sets usually are the building type, and I want to add some variety here. The next one I post will be more of my mid-headlining type or a headlining one.

Live @ Avalon, Hollywood - Will Spin For Food Charity Event - 7-21-06

I played in the patio at 5:00 a.m. and around 5:30 the sun started to come through the skylights. It was the first time I've ever played to a rising sun. Fabulous. Live @ SYNC - Maven & Robtronik - 7-16-06

Maven (aka Michael Hart) and I tag teamed for a bit at SYNC this last Sunday night. The set up was rather complicated with this gear being used:

2 Laptops running Ableton Live, 1 Allen & Heath Xone:3D, 1 Pioneer DJM-800, 1 Allen & Heath Xone:92, 1 Electribe EMX-1, 1 Elektron MachineDrum Synth, 1 Future Retro Revolution Synth

Also: A bunch of MIDI routers and cables. Everything was sync'd from the MIDI clock output from the Xone:3D (which worked extremely well). I have thoughts on the experience here at my blog. Tracks, synth elements, beat beats, etc. all layered together.
